After US President Donald Trump stated that maybe his “fire and fury” statement on North Korea “wasn’t tough enough,” Beijing has released a statement of its own. “If the US and South Korea attack Pyongyang and try to take down the regime, China will prevent it from happening,” a Chinese state-run newspaper said on Friday morning. The newspaper added that only if North Korea strikes first, Beijing will remain neutral.

During a press conference in New Jersey on Thursday, Trump continued to threaten North Korea. Trump said the North Korea should be “very, very nervous.” The US president added: “North Korea better get their act together or they are going to be in trouble like few nations have ever been in trouble.” However, Trump added that his country will always be open to talks with Pyongyang.

Earlier yesterday, Pyongyang officials said that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will not be the first to fold. “It’s impossible to conduct a dialogue with such a person who is lacking all logic and understands only power,” they said in reference to America’s president.

In a statement that was published by the state-run news agency in North Korea, Pyongyang said that Trump “released a pile of nonsense when he made his ‘fire and fury’ threat” and accused the US president of being “a senile who has failed to grasp the seriousness of the continuous situation.”
